OK, today I am running! I am excited about this, or atleast will be for the first 5 minutes. My Husband and I have been working on our house for the last couple months and I haven't had much energy to run AND lift weights. I am done beating myself up for not running, I am past that now. It starts again today.
The present is what counts, not the past!
Make it a great day!

World's Oldest Running Shoes!
These shoes are old. Like 10,000 years old. They are the world's oldest running shoes and they are on display at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History at the University of Oregon. Runonearth.com did a good story on it and you can read it here. Just scroll down a bit! Enjoy the story :)

9:30pm Panera Bread means morning cardio!
Yesterday, Hubby and I went to Panera bread. It was 9:30pm! I LOVE Panera Bread but don't love going so much that late because my bed time is 10pm (being I have to get up at 3:30) and it just makes you gain weight when you eat that late.*If your looking to loose weight, one tip is to stop eating 3 hours before your bedtime. This will put your stomach on empty and you won't store those calories :)*

When we left yesterday I vowed to get up earlier than normal to do some cardio, I couldn't stand the guilt! SO....this morning I got my butt moving and did 30mintues of cardio before I had to be to work, I'll leave you guessing as to what time I got up :). I very rarely do cardio before work, only if I feel it is necessary but this morning I acutally ejoyed it - sounds crazy. Because of my lack of sleep, when I get done with work I have little energy to do both weights AND cardio and usually end up skipping the latter. This morning it felt great to do some cardio without being totally exhausted! I'm thinking about doing this a couple times a week. Also, I have a dress fitting this Saturday for a wedding I am in later this year. Being in front of people is always good motivation to hit the weights harder and keep your diet cleaner.
My guess is that the cardio session was AWESOME because I had TOO MANY carbs. I ate a bread bowl with chicken and rice soup, a dessert AND a baguette!!! Oh well. It was delicious!
Another thought: I am looking for a treadmill for our new home. If any of you have experience with in-home treadmills and would recommend a nice brand or a brand that gives you value for your money (preferably something where you don't have to frequently buy replacement parts) let me know!!!
Make it a great day!

Not so much running these days.
I haven't run very much, not like my goal was. Lately I just haven't had much energy to weighlift and do cardio in the same day. This is mostly because I am getting practically no sleep at night b/c J and I are remodeling our new home. I am hoping to get a treadmill within the next month or so, I am totally stoked about this!
For now, I am just going to keep doing what I can. My goal is to run a little everyday...we'll see.
I just need to concentrate on not getting stressed out if my day is so packed I don't get a run in or if I am too exhausted to do cardio. I also keep in mind that 75% of your results are in your diet anyway, but that's a whole other post.
Make it a wonderful day :)

2 Miles down...
First mile - stayed strong at 4.7 on the treadmill.
Second mile - Shin started hurting and I wimped out. I ran .25 mile and walked .25 mile until I completed a full mile.
Tomorrow's goals:
*How much I actually run will depend on if my leg is really sore but I'd like to complete 2 miles total.
*Lift - Shoulders and a little legs.
*Try NOT to eat cookies Brandalyn, geesh!

Another Attempt...
OK! I am making another attempt at running. The last time I actually gave effort in this was in November...I think?!? Anyways, I miss it! I also miss the warm weather, but I shouldn't use it as an excuse not to run! I mean, I was getting really serious! I did 10 miles, twice! For someone who was COMPLETELY unmotivated to run and also being an asthmatic, I was pretty proud of myself...and then I got sick, and then I started eating holiday food, and then it was too cold to run, and then, and then, and then!!!! Now doing a mile gives me a cramp in my side :(. In the words of "Dude Where's My Car" - "NO AND THEN!", starting today!
Honestly, I'm not very good. Doing a 10min. mile is pushing it for me, but isn't it the effort and determination that counts? At least for me, I get more out of pushing myself harder each time than the beating my time. I wonder what does it for others? Time, distance or just finishing? I guess it doesn't really matter where your goals are just as long as you have them.
So what now? Where do I start? Well, blogging is a good place to start, seems this has always been a good accountability partner or a way outwardly expressing yourself in hopes that someone would care. I have a goal this year to do a 1/2 marathon. I know I could start with a small goal like a 5k or something, but I've done 10 miles before so I KNOW I can do 13! Finally, I need to get my lazy butt moving. So today I am going to attempt to run for the first time in weeks! I'll let you know how it goes.
I found this great site, I am hoping it will help with inspiration:

Any positive thoughts are welcome :) !
